Several map tools are available in the map viewer so you can view additional data for a map location and then perform analysis on that information. Found in the Map Tools pane and in the More Tools section of the Map Tools pane, these tools help you to first obtain the information and then perform analysis on those map features by creating feature lists and buffer zones, creating charts and measuring distance and area. Additional tools allow you to create theme-based maps, mark up the map, and view metadata, reports and geoRSS feeds.

Information in the following sections shows all features in the Map Tools pane. These tools are added and configured by the map administrator based on the requirements of the organization providing the mapping service; therefore, not all tools may be available to you and the labels on the tools may be different.
